On Saturday, June 15, Dr. Souweidane and his lab team will be participating in a 5K walk/run in support of the Cristian Rivera Foundation. This foundation holds immense significance to the CBTP, as it was established by our dear friend and supporter, John Rivera, in memory of his son, Cristian. Cristian was a patient of Dr. Souweidane’s who tragically lost his life to DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) in 2009. DIPG, a universally fatal brain tumor, has been at the forefront of his research efforts for nearly two decades.
The Cristian Rivera Foundation plays a crucial role in funding DIPG research, and we are deeply grateful for their unwavering support over the years. In fact, they are our largest philanthropic supporter of DIPG research, and without their assistance, our research would not be possible.
We hope you’ll consider joining our team for this event. By walking or running alongside us and this passionate community, we can make a meaningful impact in the fight against DIPG. To join, simply click the link below, select the Children’s Brain Tumor Project from the dropdown menu, and complete the registration form along with the required payment. Additionally, we encourage all team members to aim for a minimum fundraising goal of $200 each.
