No Laughing Matter – “Hip Hop for Hope” – Sept. 24
NO LAUGHING MATTER 2021
“HIP HOP FOR HOPE”
Friday, September 24th, 7 PM
After a pause in 2020, our annual No Laughing Matter comedy night fundraiser will be held at the New York Athletic Club (180 Central Park South) on Friday, September 24th. The theme for this year’s event is “Hip Hop for Hope” as we welcome a hilarious hip-hop improv troupe to our laugh-out-loud lineup. Audience participation is encouraged for an interactive experience, and all ages are welcome.
This fundraiser is essential in supporting the important research of Drs Jeffrey Greenfield and Mark Souweidane at the Children’s Brain Tumor Project, Weill Cornell Medicine. Tickets will be available for purchase soon, so please check back often. It is the support of our generous sponsors and ticket holders who bring HOPE to the children and families facing the heartbreaking diagnosis of a pediatric brain tumor.
Proof of vaccination will be required, and virtual options will be made available to all ticketholders and donors.
ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
Freestyle Love Supreme Academy is a hip-hop improv troupe founded by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Thomas Kail, and Anthony Veneziale and a special Tony Award recipient in 2020. The talented cast is participating in “Hip Hop for Hope” to support children’s brain tumor research just before their long-awaited return to Broadway’s Booth Theatre on October 7.
