YOU’RE INVITED

DR. MARK SOUWEIDANE INVITES YOU TO “MEET THE FELLOWS”

The groundbreaking pediatric brain tumor research at Weill Cornell Medicine benefits greatly from generous donors who invest in the next generation of neuroscientists. A successful avenue for growth in the field has proven to be through fellowship opportunities. One such prestigious fellowship, supported by the Rudin Family Foundation, is celebrating its tenth fellowship award under the mentorship of Dr. Mark Souweidane.

To mark this milestone, we invite you to the first “Meet the Fellows” Luncheon, hosted by Dr. Souweidane. The event will highlight the research conducted by our 2024 outgoing fellow, Patrick Halloran, who has been investigating how to optimize the yield of liquid biopsies in pediatric DMGs using transcranial sonication. His preclinical work explores the relationship between focused ultrasound and the permeability of the blood-brain barrier, as well as its potential effects on metastatic behavior in pediatric brain tumors. Patrick’s dedication to neurooncology was deeply influenced by a young patient with anaplastic ependymoma who inspired him to study pediatric brain tumors.

We will also introduce Michael Farid, the newly named 2025 Rudin Fellow, alongside other fellowship alumni, who will share the impact of their research and experiences. Join us to celebrate the achievements of our fellows and learn more about the future of pediatric brain tumor research.
